Additive Manufacturing – 3D Printing

Some envision as a complement to foundational subtractive manufacturing (removing material like drilling out material) and to lesser degree forming (like forging). 3D printing is a great way to create one-off parts or small batches, and can be used to create complex geometries that could not be realised using traditional manufacturing processes.

SLA Printing

  • Material: Resin
    Max size: 100*100*100mm        Tolerance: ±0.1 – 0.15mm
  • Description: Printed with liquid resin materials for sharp edges and smooth surfaces. High-detail resins are ideal for printing complex designs and sculptures, because up to 0.2mm is enough to create clearly visible details. In addition to size, resin has almost no design restrictions.
  • Advantage: High brightness, low water absorption, good detail performance; suitable for complex designs and sculptures, high-detail models
  • Disadvantage: Can not be exposed to ultraviolet light, easy to soften at a temperature above 50 degrees
  • Material: Transparent resin
    Tolerance: ±0.15mm      Size: 600x600x400mm
  • Description: Printed with liquid resin for sharp edges and smooth surfaces. Color availability is limited, but it is easy to color, and it can also be semi-transparent or fully transparent. High-detail resins are ideal for printing complex designs and sculptures, because up to 0.2mm is enough to create clearly visible details.
  • Advantage: The product has high permeability, crystal clear color, high brightness and good detail performance
  • Disadvantage: Need not be exposed to UV light

SLS Printing

  • Material: Nylon
    Tolerance: ±0.15mm      Size: 375x375x430mm
  • Description: The functionality of nylon material is suitable for the final product and complex design to verify the function of the product. The principle of material usage is laser sintering on an industrial 3D printer. This technology can support the surface freedom of 3D models, and even print complex moving parts at one time.
  • Advantage: Excellent toughness and elasticity, self-lubricating, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, gas permeability, oil resistance, non-toxicity, etc.
  • Disadvantage: The price is expensive, the surface is grainy, it needs to be polished later, the error is larger than that of photosensitive resin

SLM Printing

  • Material: Aluminum alloy
    Tolerance: ±0.15mm      Size: 500x400x300 mm
  • Description:Metal 3D printed aluminum alloys mainly include AlSi12 and AlSi10Mg. most3D provides AlSi10Mg material as the printing service of aluminum alloy. It is suitable for thin-walled and complex geometrical parts, especially in applications with good thermal performance and low weight.
  • Advantage: Has good thermal properties, high strength and hardness, lighter than steel
  • Disadvantage: Compared with steel, it has a low melting point, lower than steel, and is easy to change.
  • Material: Titanium alloy
    Tolerance: ±0.15mm      Size: 500x400x300mm
  • Description:Titanium alloy TI6AL4V (powder) chemical composition, according to ASTM F136-02a (ELI Grade 23). CL 41TI ELI is a titanium alloy material suitable for the production of lightweight components used in racing and aviation and aerospace industries. It is also used in implants in the field of medical technology.
  • Advantage: High processability, oxidation resistance, tensile strength, fatigue strength and creep resistance.
  • Disadvantage: Expensive and poor welding performance.
  • Material: Stainless Steel
    Tolerance: ±0.15mm      Size: 500x400x300mm
  • Description:Stainless steel is different from carbon steel. The current chromium content is different. The steel alloy with the lowest 10.5% chromium content is not easy to rust and corrode. The printing material provided by most3D is 316, which has high strength and corrosion resistance, and can drop to low temperatures in a wide temperature range.
  • Advantage: High-temperature resistant, general acid-resistant medium, as well as heat-resistant, high-temperature oxidation resistant (heat-resistant non-skin) high-temperature stainless steel
  • Disadvantage: Not resistant to corrosion by alkaline media.
