Considerations & Limitations

  • Low Surface Energy (Difficult to Glue/Paint): Inert surface makes standard solvent bonding and spray painting difficult. *(Solution: Require specialized flame/plasma treatment or mechanical locking)*.
  • Moderate Heat Deflection Temperature: Standard PP softens above 80–100°C; not suited for high-temperature structural environments.
  • Susceptibility to UV Degradation: Degrades under direct long-term sunlight unless UV-stabilizing additives or carbon black are compounded into the resin.
